Our body functions as a shell where everyday experiences, sensory perceptions and trauma manifest themselves and are archived. In the sculptural installation ‘Tracing the Body’, the visitor is invited to observe their internal body, and make drawings of whatever is encountered in the process. These drawings will form the starting point for 'Tracing the Body, Chapter 2'

For Chapter 2, Eva Spierenburg invited Emmie Liebregts , Natalia Ossef and Jeltje Schuurmans to respond to the outcome of Chapter 1. Fleeting notions from the visitor’s drawings settle into new artworks. The exhibition combines contributions from the four artists with a new version of Spierenburg's sculptural installation.

‘Tracing the Body’ is part of CareFull; an exhibition curated by Imke Ruigrok reflecting on different notions of ‘care’. With individual projects by more than 50 artists on 20 locations in and around Utrecht.
